Ball State 101

Headed to Ball State? Congratulations! We know it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to maintain that GPA and get a degree. At Silvertree Communities we provide the perfect home base to thrive during your college career! From our experience, here are some tips that can help lead to academic success.
It’s OK to listen to input from your parents, siblings or best friends, but ultimately, you are the one responsible for deciding what classes to take, friends to make and events to partake. Nothing says you’re growing up like the ability to make — and be responsible for — all your own decisions.
The people you live with while attending Ball State are going through similar experiences, and can be your safety net. Silvertree Communities provides the perfect atmosphere to foster meaningful relationships with your friends and neighbors. We're known for bringing our residents together for pool parties, finals week cram sessions, and tailgates!
It may be your apartment, a quiet space in the Ball State library, or Silvertree’s clubhouse, but find a place that works best for you to get your work done - while avoiding distractions.
Many students attending college face homesickness and a feeling of not quite belonging. A solution? Join one of hundreds of Ball State student organizations, clubs, sororities, fraternities and sports teams! You'll make new friends, learn new skills, and feel more connected to Muncie.
Attending Ball State is a mixture of social and academic experiences. Try not to tip the balance too far in either direction! We like the "work hard, play hard" mentality. Silvertree Communities understands the right balance for students and fosters both social and academic activities.
A safe college experience is a happy experience. Learn your way around campus, be alert when traveling in groups, and designate a driver when on the roads, especially if drinking is involved. At Silvertree Communities, our courtesy officers are on-site and available to residents after hours for their needs.
We all have lazy days, we all stay up late studying, and we all experience those Friday mornings after Thursday nights out. Still, these are not good excuses to wear PJ’s in a public setting! Studies have shown that exhibiting some professionalism in class leads to a better learning environment, students being better prepared for class, and students being more respectful of one another.
It's important to set aside time and activities that help you relax and take the stress out of your school week. Whether it's working out in our fitness center, relaxing in our sparkling pool, or challenging your friends to a game of volleyball on our sand court, Silvertree Communities can help you be good to yourself!
More fun that you ever imagined. So much fun that you’ll have stories to tell your parents, friends, children and grandchildren. That’s what college is really about, taking the last steps of childhood and first steps of adulthood, and learning from both.
